The first thing that struck me about this photograph was the contrast; it is the perfect balance of warm "blacks and whites." The way the sunlight breathes into the image leads the eye to the base of that one lone tuft, then the line of the stem brings the viewer into the world of the boldest plant. You captured depth perfectly as well; it is easy to imagine the endlessness of this field through the blurring at the foreground and where the background is about to begin. The piece reminds me of those photographs in books of inspiring quotes; "You alone control your fate!" it whispers directly into the ear. Marvelous work.
